bridge players commitment to accessibility
Bridge Players Theatre Company is proud to be fully accessible. The building is wheelchair accessible as are the restrooms. We provide a minimum of one sign-interpreted performance for every show for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing audience. Furthermore we have Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) available for one performance weekend. Some shows are shadow interpreted by skilled, theatrical interpreters. Some Deaf guests have said that this experience was their very best theatrical experience ever.
For our blind/low vision guests we offer several services. First are pre-show, guided, sensory set tours. Guests are offered the opportunity to have an audio described, tactile tour of the set prior to the show which the show’s director typically leads. Then blind/low vision guests are offered our Program By Audio. They are given an MP3 player to hear the show program which has been pre-recorded. Each cast member records his or her own biography which enables the guests to have some familiarity with the voices when they speak on stage. All guests with disabilities are offered preferred seating if this is their wish.
